Confirm by AIB Authenticator App
When shopping online with your AIB business debit or credit card, you may be asked to confirm it’s you using your card.
Get set up
To approve online payments, you or one of your additional business cardholders need to use the AIB Authenticator App.
Download the app from the Apple App Store or Google Play Store and follow the steps to set it up.
Your business card may not work for online purchases if you’re not set up on the app.
This app is for AIB business cards only.
To set up the app
1. Download the AIB Authenticator app
2. Select your region
Select the region your business card was issued from. You can add cards from more than one region and use the same login information to confirm your purchases.
3. Allow notifications
Allow the AIB Authenticator notifications if requested, so we can send you alerts when you need to approve a payment. Go to Settings on your phone, select AIB Authenticator and make sure notifications for the app are turned on.
4. Log in/register for the app
If you’re registered for Phone & Internet Banking, log in with the registration number and Personal Access Code (PAC) you use for the AIB mobile app.
If not, register within the app.
5. Set up your device for the app
Choose a phone number to receive the code to verify your device.
6. Confirm your mobile numbers in the app
We’ll ask you to confirm your mobile numbers (personal and business) by sending a code to your phone to enter into the app.
7. Add your business card/s
Add your business cards and you’re ready to use your business card online. You can add more than one business card to the app.
How to confirm it’s you using the AIB Authenticator App
- You’ll see a message on screen asking you to check your phone.
- Tap on the message on your phone. Then follow the instructions to confirm the purchase.
- Return to the online store, you may need to press the button ‘I have approved in my app’ or ‘Complete’ before your purchase is confirmed.
