How do I set up and pay an AIB credit card bill?

To set up and pay a new credit card bill:
1. Log into the app.
2. Tap the ‘Payments’ option in the bottom tab.
3. Tap ‘Pay’.
4. Tap ‘Pay someone new’.
5. Tap the ‘Pay a bill’ option under ‘New payment’.
6. Select ‘who you are paying’ under ‘Credit card bills’.
7. You will be asked to enter a ‘Nickname’ and a ‘Credit card number’ before tapping ‘Save and continue’.
8. On the next screen, enter the amount you want to ‘Pay’.
9. Then, tap ‘From Account’ which is the account you want to send the money from.
10. Then, check the ‘To Account’ to make sure you are sending the money to the correct payee.
11. Before you press Continue’, you have the option to select the ‘Payment type’. The payment type will default to ‘Standard’ (money arrives on the same or next business day) but you can choose ‘Instant’ (money normally arrives within seconds). The transaction charges for these types of payments are the same.
12. Confirm the details are correct and tap ‘Pay bill’.
13. You can see the completed payment in the ‘Payments’ section of the app.
To pay a regular credit card bill:
1. Log into the app.
2. Tap the ‘Payments’ option in the bottom tab.
3. Tap ‘Pay’.
4. Under the ‘Pay a saved payee, tap the ‘Bills’.
5. Tap the credit card bill you want to pay.
6. Next, enter the amount you want to ‘Pay’.
7. Then, tap ‘From Account’ which is the account you want to send the money from.
8. Then, check the ‘To Account’ to make sure you are sending the money to the correct credit card account.
9. Before you press Continue’, you have the option to select the ‘Payment type’. The payment type will default to ‘Standard’ (money arrives on the same or next business day) but you can choose ‘Instant’ (money normally arrives within seconds). The transaction charges for these types Confirm the details are correct and tap ‘Pay bill’.
10. You can see the completed payment in the ‘Payments’ section of the app.
Pay again

With ‘Pay again’, you can repeat a payment for a bill by tapping on the transaction. No need to start again. Just tap the payment and follow the steps to repeat it.

You can also adjust the amount or the account you are sending money from.
New Credit Card bills cannot be set up using the old app. Go to How do I manage my bills? for information on how to set the card up using AIB Internet Banking or AIB Tablet Banking.

To pay a Credit Card bill that has been set up:
1. Log in to AIB Mobile Banking
2. Select the Pay & transfer
3. Click on Pay a bill and follow the onscreen instructions to complete your request.

1. Log in to AIB Internet Banking
2. Click on Pay & Transfer and select Pay a bill.
3. Follow the on screen instructions to complete your request.
If you'd like to set up a direct debit to pay your credit card monthly, go to Services & Settings, select Manage My Cards and click on Setup Single Euro Payments Area (SEPA) Direct Debit. Following the steps to set up the direct debit. You will need your AIB Card Reader to set up a direct debit on your AIB Credit Card.

Visit the Quick Banking Area where you can use the Cash & Cheque Lodgement Machine to lodge cash, use the Kiosk, or visit our cashier counter where a member of staff can help you with your request to pay your credit card bill.

NB: Remember to bring the Credit Card Giro slip from the bottom of your paper statement with you if you are lodging cash.

From a bank account using IBAN

Payments from Irish banks (Irish bank IBANs starts with IE)

If you are making an electronic payment from an Irish bank account, you can do so by using the following BIC and IBAN

IBAN IE76AIBK 930113 99905046

Reference: You must include your full 16 digit credit card number in the payment/credit message.

If you don’t include the 16 digit credit card number when you send your payment, the payment may be returned.

Payments from non Irish banks

If you are making an electronic payment from a non Irish bank account, you can do so by using the following BIC and IBAN:

Name AIB VISA

IBAN: IE92AIBK 930113 99945304

Reference: You must include your full 16 digit credit card number in the payment/credit message.

If you don’t include the 16 digit credit card number when you send your payment, the payment may be returned.

Verification of Payee (VoP) is a security feature that checks if the name and IBAN you enter for a payment match the details registered on the account.

To get a ‘Match’ result, please enter:

Account Name: AIB Visa

Even small differences (extra words, abbreviations, or typos) can result in a ‘Close Match’ or ‘No Match’.

Set up a direct debit to automatically pay your credit card each month. You can choose to pay either the full balance, set percentage or the minimum amount.
