How do I increase the limit on my AIB credit card?

1. Log in to your app.
2. Tap the ‘Cards’ option in the bottom tab.
3. Choose the credit card you want to request a limit increase on.
4. Tap the ‘More’ button.
5. Then, tap ‘Increase card limit’ option.
6. On the next screen you will be provided with some information about increasing the limit on your credit card.
7. If you are happy with the information, tap ‘Continue’.
8. On the next screen you will see what your current credit card limit is.
9. To request an increase, insert the ‘New limit’ you want. The new limit must be a multiple of €50.
10. Then tap ‘Continue’ to confirm the new limit.
- To apply for a credit limit increase on your credit card we need to confirm your Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) or Tax Reference Number (TRN). This is to check the Central Credit Register (CCR). If your PPSN or TRN are not confirmed already, we will ask you to do so in the AIB mobile app. Follow the steps on screen.
- If you are not the main credit card holder, you will not be able to increase the limit on the card.
- If you have applied for a credit card increase in the last 6 months or have made no transactions on the card, you will not be able to increase the limit on the card.
1. Log in to AIB Internet Banking
2. Click on Manage my Cards
3. Choose the relevant card and click on Request Limit Increase
4. Follow the on screen instructions to complete your request.
Alternatively select your AIB Credit Card in Accounts, and click on the Account Management and select Request Limit Increase. Follow the instructions on screen.

In order to apply for a limit increase on your AIB Credit Card, we need to have your confirmed Personal Public Service Number (PPSN) number on file. If we don't have your PPSN, you need to upload a form of documentation showing your PPSN and full name. (Go to Services & Settings and select Verify PPSN)

We will notify you by SMS once your document is verified and you can continue your Limit Increase application. In most cases, this should be completed within 1 business day.
