AIB Community €1 Million Fund

The AIB Community €1 Million Fund enables customers, the public and our employees to support the local charities that matter most to them, within their region. The Fund supports charities across six regions in Ireland, Northern Ireland & Great Britain.

AIB will once again allocate €700,000 to charities chosen by its customers and the community, while €300,000 will be donated to charities chosen by employees.

As we celebrate 60 years of AIB in 2026, we’re marking this milestone by strengthening that commitment and adding an extra once-off €60,000 to the AIB Community €1 Million Fund. This will provide an additional €10,000 per region, enabling us to support even more local projects and initiatives in our communities.

How it works

The AIB Community €1 Million Fund enables customers, the public and our employees to support the local charities that mean most to them, within their region.

Once nominations are confirmed, the top six charities chosen by customers and communities in each region will receive €20,000, while the top six charities chosen by AIB employees in each region will receive €6,000. If a charity is nominated in both Funds, they will receive €26,000.

To celebrate AIB’s 60th anniversary in 2026, a once-off additional contribution of €60,000 will be added to the public fund this year, providing an extra €10,000 for each region.

The selected charities will be announced in early Autumn of this year.

In 2025, Blood Bike Northwest and We Make Good were supported by the Fund. Watch below to see how the funding helped these charities.

“Blood Bikes Northwest is a voluntary organisation, and we would deliver blood samples, breast milk and products when needed. A family could be waiting on a delivery. That family could be in a very isolated part. They may not have their own transport and when they see us turning up with a package, they’re so grateful.”

“My wee fella was born six weeks early, and then he was transferred up to Temple Street. Blood Bikes was able to bring up my breast milk up to Dublin for my wee fella. If we didn’t have the Blood Bikes in Donegal, we would be lost.”

Blood Bike Northwest

Video Descriptions: We Make Good

The video opens with soft, uplifting background music. with an aerial camera giving a view of a city. The video then transitions to a staff member speaking to the camera.

The staff member from the We Make Good charity speaks directly to camera, explaining the charity's mission to help people from maginalised backgrounds get into work in the creative and fashion industries. As she speaks, the video shows people using sewing machines to stitch clothes and other fabrics, and shows other staff members talking to each other and helping people with their sewing.

The next scene shows another staff member speaking directly to the camera. She talks about how she is excited to be launching the charity's new repairs and alterations course in 2026 which is funded by the AIB Community €1 Million Fund, as clips of the staff member talking to people and helping them with their sewing appear.

The video then transitions to another staff member sitting at a sewing machine and using it to stitch fabrics. The staff member explains that she is excited to use her skills to train people, so they can learn the skills to help make them more confident and independent.
