Who can register for the First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking service?

First Trust Bank’s Phoneline Banking service is available to all personal and personal business* customers. This service is not available to limited and unlimited companies, clubs, societies and charities.

 

What services can I use with First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking?

You can:

  • Check your balance
  • Check up to the last 21 transactions on Branch based accounts or the last 22 transactions on Credit Card accounts.
  • Find out if a cheque has been paid
  • Transfer funds to another Nominated Account**
  • Pay a bill
  • Request a statement
  • Change your Personal Access Code (PAC)

By completing the Registration Form, you will automatically be registered for First Trust Bank Online Banking, giving you two ways to manage your money from work, home or wherever you have internet access.

How do I use First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking?

  • You will need a touchtone telephone to use the First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking service.
  • Dial 0845 793 0000, your call will be charged at local rate. Customers resident outside the United Kingdom should dial +44 8457 930 000.
  • Using the keys on your phone, dial in your Registration Number.
  • You will then be asked for three random digits from your PAC.
  • The first time you use the First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking service, you will need to call 0845 793 0000 for access authorisation and to have your PAC activated. After keying in your Registration Number and PAC you will be asked to change your PAC to a 5-digit number of your choice.
  • The up-to-the-minute balance on your main account will be given to you automatically. (If you have set-up your First Trust Bank Visa, MasterCard or Asset Finance accounts for First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking, your balance will be the closing balance from the previous day).

Then just use the phone keys to select which service you want.

 

Can I use the service at weekends and Bank Holidays?

Yes. Once you have activated your PAC for First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking, you can use the service from any touchtone telephone from 7.00am to 3.00am, 7 days a week.

 

Can I access my accounts from abroad?

Yes, the service can be accessed using a touchtone telephone from most countries around the world.

 

How much does it cost to use First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking?

This service is free. However, if you are liable to pay transaction fees on your account, First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking transactions will be charged at the current ‘automated transaction’ rate, otherwise all you pay for is the cost of a local call.

If you have set-up your First Trust Bank Visa or MasterCard Accounts for First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking, transfers or payments made from them will be treated as Cash Advances and will be charged at the current Cash Advance rate. View our Related Information section for details of these transaction fees.

 

Can I change my Personal Access Code (PAC)?

You can change your PAC at any time, simply by selecting option 07 from the services available on First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking.

 

What do I do if I forget my Personal Access Code (PAC)?

If you forget your PAC, let us know immediately by calling a Customer Services Adviser on 028 9034 6034 between 8.30am and 5.00pm Monday to Friday. Alternatively you may contact any First Trust Bank branch. A new PAC will then be issued to you within a few days.

First Trust Bank Phoneline Banking is available to sole-traders and partnerships whose mandate requires only one signatory on cheques and other banking instruments. These services are not available to limited and unlimited companies, clubs, societies and charities.

**Your Nominated Account(s) may be in any name(s) and may be held with First Trust Bank or any other United Kingdom financial institution provided they have an APACS sorting code, personalised eight-digit account number and no other identifying reference number.
