AIB Corporate Banking

Corporate Banking- Ireland
AIB Corporate Banking is:
  • The leading Corporate Bank to Ireland's top tier companies, financial institutions and Irish commercial state companies
  • We provide a comprehensive relationship service, based on working closely with our clients, giving solutions to complex financial problems using the AIB Group resources.
  • Our Relationship Banking model is unique in he Irish market- all our customer financial requirements including our range of Group products and the provision of credit facilities are provided through the Corporate Relationship Manager
Corporate Banking- Britain
  • Offices in London. Birmingham, Manchester, Leeds, Edinburgh and Bristol
  • We provide a full capital markets banking service for medium to large UK corporates
  • Relationship Mangers are structured around industry sectors, with a geographic overlay, to ensure good understanding of clients and markets
  • Corporate Banking is receiving increasing recognition for its capabilities in providing an arranging debt facilities, as well as for its treasury services
Corporate Banking- New York
  • In 2000-AIB Capital Markets decided to develop its capital markets banking activities in North America
  • The key focus is on leveraged transactions, corporate lending and project finance
  • Corporate Banking has achieved significant success to date and is planning further growth in New York and the West Coast
  • Our aim is to become a valued and respected player in our markets of choice
Corporate Banking- International
  • We work with clients on a global basis
  • We provide all layers of capital, investment grade senior debt, acquisition finance, mezzanine, structured finance and preference equity
  • We are committed to building a leading third party debt management business in Europe and currently operate from Dublin, London, Paris and Frankfurt
Acquisition Finance focuses on:
  • The provision of senior and mezzanine debt finance solutions for management and institutional buyouts
  • Public to private transactions, company recapitalisations and reorganisations
  • We also provide equity and preference equity for both early and late stage developing companies through AIB equity which runs two specialist investment funds
International Investment Grade Finance:
  • Assumes exposure on Investment Grade Credit on a buy to hold basis via syndicated loans (Europe & North America), private placements, credit default swaps and asset backed securities
A typical graduate position in Corporate Banking would involve:
  • Managing and maintaining client relationships
  • Identifying, targeting and marketing new business opportunities
  • Working closely with other business units in AIB Group
  • Preparing reports and detailed analyses on companies
  • Developing specialised knowledge on specific industries
AIB Global Treasury- Dublin, London, New York and Poland
  • 900 people directly involved in financial market dealing
  • A centralised treasury service for AIB Group
  • Primarily responsible for the day to day liquidity management and funding for AIB Group worldwide
Wholesale Treasury
  • We are responsible for managing the funding, liquidity and market risk neutralisation for AIB Group, as well as trading profitability on the wholesale markets
  • The leading Irish provider of treasury products and services to overseas institutions
  • An active proprietary trader on the international financial markets
Global Treasury Services
  • As the customer arm of Global Treasury, we aim to fully satisfy the international trade requirements of our customers
  • Through our sales, Product Management and Capability Management business areas, we aim to provide a single point of contact with our customers, covering all products and addressing geographical diversity
Business Support Services
  • BSS supports the wholesale and Treasury Services Teams in Global Treasury Dublin, London and New York with a centralised support function in Dublin
  • We are responsible for customer support services, wholesale support services, change management, IT services, operational risk service and performance management
Treasury Risk Analysis and Control (TRAC)
  • We have responsibility within Global Treasury for measuring policy and control standards in relations to markets, liquidity and other balance sheet risks
  • Treasury Risk Analysis and Control also delivers quality risk information to the wholesale and customer businesses and to group risk management

TRAC has four teams

  • Consolidated reporting
  • Market Risk group
  • Quantitative Analysis/Development
  • Operations

The teams are responsible for providing risk reports and analysis, ensuring policy compliance, maintaining best practices in risk management, ongoing testing and efficient reconciliation of the Bank's FX positions

Credit Legal and Bank Relations
  • We manage the banks limits and country credit card limits for AIB Group conducting annual reviews for all existing counterparty credits, presenting cases to credit committees and setting geographic portfolio constraints
  • CLBR also provides legal services to Global Treasury, including management of legal claims and policy development
  • From a banking relations perspective, the department coordinates and manages AIB Group relationships with international banks and non-bank financial institutions

A typical Graduate position in Credit Legal and Bank relations would involve:

  • Working within a team to provide country and interbank analysis
  • Learning a broad range of credit evaluation skills
  • Preparing credit applications and presenting them to credit committees
  • Building an understanding of internal risk policies
  • Managing relationships with banks in foreign countries
AIB Investment Managers Limited (AIBIM)

AIBIM offers a broad range of investment services and products to Irish and international clients, investing in equities, bonds, currencies and property

AIB Investment Banking
  • Comprises a range of businesses that operate internationally through locations in several countries around the world
  • Deliver services for a global client base including stockbroking, corporate finance, outsourced financial solutions and sophisticated investment management services and fund administration, as well as custody and trustee services through a joint venture with the Bank of New York
AIB International Financial Services Ltd (AIBIFS)
  • A Leading provider of sophisticated outsourced financial services and creative financial engineering solutions for a global client base
