Tanya, Relationship Officer, Corporate Banking

• Graduated UCC with a degree in Commerce and an MBS in Business Economics
• 2001, joined AIB Corporate Finance in the IFSC. My role involved marketing AIB to new and existing IFSC based clients, being the point of contact for these companies and providing financing facililities (involving company/industry analysis) to them.
• Currently senior relationship officer on the multi-sector portfolio where I am responsible for my own portfolio of clients. I work closely with these clients ensuring their banking requirements are met.
• Corporate Banking offers an exciting and varied career with tremendous opportunity for progression.

Lucy: Credit Analyst, Credit Legal and Bank Relations (CBLR)

• BA in Economics and Political Science and 4years of post grad studies
• 2000 joined AIB Capital Markets as credit analyst
• Currently assistant Manager, I work closely with other units in AIB and externally with representatives of the banks
• I have held responsibilities with regards to Central and Eastern Europe, particularly Poland as well as Germany, Austria, Scandinavia and Turkey
• I have benefited from AIB's strong focus on training and development and received support in my pursuit of a Doctorate in Political Science through study leave

CASE STUDY - IFS

• 2000 joined AIBIFS
• Began career providing many services such as management accounts, regulatory reporting and treasury system maintenance to a number of clients
• Presently working as part of a team to provide straight through treasury services to a large Irish institution
• On a day to day basis my job includes training the client’s staff to use our systems, identifying IT problems that may hinder operational performance and proposing solutions to business problems that arise
• AIB Capital Markets support my personal development through the Graduate Development programme and in-house training courses. I receive unbiased feedback which helps me to pinpoint areas for improvement
• With AIB Capital Markets financial assistance and study leave I recently completed my ACCA exams
• I look forward to new projects and possibly working overseas in IFS

• A large part of my work involved training staff in Dublin to manage our systems and understand the nuances of the UK operations
• Early exposure to the diverse career opportunities within Capital Markets prompted me to apply for a job within Corporate Banking Britain
• Initially I worked as a Credit Analyst/Relationship Officer and was then prompted to Manager
• I am responsible for attracting new business within specific industries, meeting defined income targets within a large team and managing junior staff
