What type of loans can I apply for?
You can apply for a personal loan through Internet Banking. You can also apply for a Top Up of your existing AIB Personal Loan through Internet Banking. These loans will be approved in a customer's sole name - joint applications are not available. The personal loans are based on a variable rate ('A' loan rate). No fixed rate loans are available.
If you are a Student Plus Account or Graduate Account holder and wish to avail of a Reduced Rate Loan, please apply through your local branch. Alternatively you can call the AIB Student & Graduate Centre on 1890 788 336, lines open 8am to 9pm Monday - Friday and Saturday 9am to 6pm.
How much can I apply for?
You can apply for a loan from EUR1,500 to EUR30,000.
You can apply for a Top Up of an existing loan for EUR1,000 up to a total individual loan balance of EUR30,000.
Over how many years can I repay the loan?
You can repay your loan over a period from 1 year to 5 years.
Can I make loan repayments on a monthly, weekly or fortnightly basis?
Yes, you can make loan repayments on either a monthly, fortnightly or weekly basis.
Where will my loan account be opened?
Your loan will be opened at your AIB branch.
What loan rate will I be charged?
You will be charged a competitive variable interest rate based on the amount borrowed.

Are there any fees for applying for a personal loan through AIB Internet Banking?
No, there are no charges applied for applying for a personal loan through AIB Internet Banking.
Will I be able to view my loan balance and statement through AIB Internet Banking Service?
Yes, you will be able to view your loan account balance and loan account statement through AIB Internet Banking, by selecting the account maintenance function within the site and entering the new loan account number and NSC details.
Alternatively if you wish to register to become an AIB Internet Banking customer so that you can apply for a loan online please complete an AIB Internet Banking registration form.
