Currently EUR2.50 per card applies where the card is used for either an ATM/in branch transaction or a Point of Sale transaction, and EUR5.00 per card applies where the card is used for both. Government Stamp Duty of EUR 0.50 per cheque applies.

Switching Options

The Central Bank of Ireland's Code of Conduct on the Switching of Current Accounts with Credit Institutions provides you with the following two options:

Option A: Switch your Personal Current Account(s) to AIB and close your Personal Current Account(s) with your 'Old Bank'.

Or

Option B: Switch all your active direct debits and standing orders to your new/ existing Personal Current Account while your 'old' Personal Current Account(s) remain open with your 'Old Bank'.

You may also be interested in switching your Personal Current Account out of AIB to another Bank. To do this you must obtain a Switching Pack from the Bank that you wish to transfer your account into and follow the steps that are outlined.
