AIB Job Creation Fund for SMEs

AIB's Job Creation Fund is available to support businesses and the creation of new jobs in the SME sector

We know that despite the continuing challenges facing Irish business, the future of the Irish economy depends on the growth of small businesses which will generate employment opportunities and sustained growth into the future for the small business sector.

The main aim of the AIB Job Creation Fund is to support small businesses providing access to finance for new projects, processes or expansion initiatives that will facilitate the creation of jobs.

Who can qualify for finance under the AIB Job Creation Fund?

To qualify for finance under the fund, you must be an existing AIB business customer and demonstrate that you are investing in a new project, process or expansion initiative that results in the creation of at least one permanent full-time job.

You must complete a 'Job Creation Fund - Self Certification Form', including a customer declaration that a minimum of one permanent full-time job will be created as a result of securing the finance sought. Normal lending criteria and guidelines apply.

How much can I borrow?

Minimum loan amount of EUR10,000 available, up to a maximum loan of EUR250,000 per business.

What is the interest rate?

The AIB Job Creation Loan Fund is priced competitively at 4.4% p.a. variable which is a discount of 3.85% off the Bank's standard "AA" Business Loan Variable Rate.

Lending criteria, terms and conditions apply. Credit facilities are subject to repayment capacity and financial status and are not available to persons under 18 years of age. Security may be required.

How do I apply?

Your AIB Business Relationship Manager is always ready to talk to you about your plans for your business and how AIB can support you now and in the future.

Call to your AIB branch to discuss your plans for your business and how we might support you with the provision of finance which will result in the creation of at least one permanent full-time job. If your business does not meet all of the criteria specified but you would like to discuss your specific financing requirements, come in and talk to us on how we may help you.

Typical projects that can be undertaken with the support of the AIB Job Creation Fund:

  • Building acquisition/remodelling
  • Purchasing of second-hand or used vehicles, plant, machinery or equipment for use by the customer's business
  • New business acquisition
  • Financing for overseas sales
  • Any project that has been approved for grant funding by a state agency e.g. Enterprise Ireland, County Enterprise Boards, Bord Bia, etc.

 

What activities are excluded from the AIB Job Creation Fund?

  • Refinancing of existing debt (e.g. Bank Debt, Trade Creditors, etc)
  • Short-term working capital
  • Land purchase

If you require finance for any of the above, you should discuss your requirements with your Business Relationship Manager to find the most suitable product to meet your needs.

Important Information

AIB reserves the right to withdraw the AIB Job Creation Fund at any time at its discretion without notice and notwithstanding that the Fund has not been fully allocated.
