Currency Current Account

A Currency Current Account with AIB Customer Treasury Services allows you to make and receive foreign currency payments in a particular currency without the need to convert the funds into euro. It can help protect you against adverse exchange rate movements and eliminate foreign exchange conversion costs.  Depending on your requirements, you may choose from either a Currency Current Account on NSC 93-00-67 (available to business customers only) or a Sterling Current Account on NSC 23-85-90 (available to personal and business customers).

Benefits

  • Available in all major currencies
  • Facilitates Incoming and Outgoing International Payments
  • Currency cheque lodgements in the currency of the account supported
  • Business customers have online access via iBusiness Banking for balance and transaction processing and payment initiation services. For further information on iBusiness Banking please click here
  • Business customers without access to iBusiness Banking can also access our dedicated Customer Service Unit for queries and limited transaction services
  • Overdraft facilities available to business customers only (subject to approval).

Please Note:

  • 93-00-67 Currency Current Accounts are available to business customers only
  • Accounts must be operated in Credit at all times (except business customers with approved overdraft limits). Any items presented on the account where there are insufficient funds may be returned unpaid
  • No chequebook, standing order or direct debit facilities available
  • Direct cash lodgements or withdrawals are not supported
  • No credit interest is payable
  • Note: Joint Accounts are available to a maximum of 4 parties.

Sterling Current Accounts on NSC 23-85-90

(Sterling Current Accounts are UK based accounts domiciled in our St Helens, 1 Undershaft, London EC3A 8AB branch)


Main Features

  • Available to Personal & Business customers
  • Suitable for customers with payables and receivables in Sterling within the United Kingdom
  • Supports cost effective incoming and outgoing sterling credit transfers within the United Kingdom (UK Interbank Payment form)
  • Supports incoming sterling direct debits within the United Kingdom
  • Supports sterling standing orders within the United Kingdom
  • Supports sterling cheque lodgements
  • Supports sterling cheque issuance within the United Kingdom
  • Business customers have online access via iBusiness Banking for balance and transaction processing and payment initiation services. For further information on iBusiness Banking please click here
  • Personal customers and business customers without access to iBusiness Banking can also access our dedicated Customer Service Unit for queries and limited transaction services
  • Overdraft facilities available to business customers (subject to approval).
